Study in Cyprus

The third largest and most populous island in the Mediterranean, Cyprus is a popular tourist destination. This is thanks to its favourable weather, great nightlife and beautiful mountain range. The country is in the top three education spenders in the world, investing around 7% of its GDP on education.

As Cyprus is a former British colony English is widely used. The official languages are Turkish and Greek. However, the language of instruction for many degrees and programmes in Cyprus is English. This makes it the perfect destination for international students.

Cyprus is the world’s 80th largest island by area. It is 149 miles (240 kilometres) long and 62 miles (100 kilometers) wide. It is very close to Turkey and the country is seen as two parts, northern and southern. There is a United Nations buffer zone known as the Green Line that separates the two areas.

Cyprus is a popular tourist destination especially for beach holidays. This is because Cyprus has one of the warmest climates in that part of the European Union. The summer lasts around 8 months of the year, beginning in April and ending in November. There are plenty of opportunities to relax by the coast as well as take in some mountain trails in the Troodos Mountain range.
